KERK in Gentbrugge was a meeting place where people found freedom. KERK offered space for ideas, creation, fun and celebration. They opened their doors to everyone: young, old, alone or in a group. It was a flexible and open platform, an inspiring oasis in the city. KERK was a city garden, exhibition space, studio, bar or workshop.

KERK was a temporary infill that started in 2014 in the former Sidaplax factory buildings in Gentbrugge. The demolition weekend took place on March 18 and 19, 2017. It was an initiative of Vzw Springstof. KERK got its name from the location, you could find them in the Kerkstraat, that’s all.
During the period of temporary use, various non-profit organisations, workshops and neighbourhood associations were housed here. The activities that were organized there were very extensive. You could find food truck festivals, roller discos, markets, etc. There were also football matches on the big screen and Kardinaal Pong.
